Friday Shoot Out!

'You cannot drive less than a mile and not see Italian restaurants in most of the strip malls, or just by them selves on a corner, or in a neighborhood that consist of generally homes, and Jersey is known for more than its Garden State appeal'

Over at Midlife, Menopause, Mistakes and Random Stuff I noticed she was having this Friday Shoot Out party, and I was invited. I love her photos she always post. Of people, places, and a random thing or two all along the road of her little quaint town, Newman. She caters for a living, helps rescue pets, and I guess along the way she has this loaded weapon hanging from her holster just ready to point and shoot at what ever her little heart desires. My kinda gal. A real metal and concrete cowgirl just like m'E! Go over there and check her out, but here is what she posted recently...

This is YOUR personal invitation, shameless begging, or whatever it takes to get you on board with us. Patty @ Crisfield, Maryland and I started with friendly little shoot out to showcase our towns. We love our beautiful towns and we'd like to see yours. Next week, beautiful Loida has chosen "My Home Towns Native Food and Restaurant's" for the Friday Shoot Out. That should be another interesting one I think. I love seeing everyone else's town through their eyes. This is one of the highlights of my week......seeing every one's Friday Shoot-Out pictures representing their towns.

'Here it is RG, a nice and pretty new little Italian joint...like they needed another one'!

So here is my entry...I promise to take more next time, but this week I have been working double duty as personal chef, wife, journalist, sustainable garden sleuth, joke post(here), Open Mic host, and not to mention a managed to down a few scotch with my group of friends at another open mic (yes, they were bad and bought me drinks).

On every corner there is an Italian restaurant. Just this intersection alone there is A & G Deli, Romeo's, Romeo's Pizza Store and Positano (owned by the same four Italian guys), and a new place they are building next to the Super Fresh, Three Guys Italian Slice. I never really cared for Italian in Dallas, Texas where I am from. Why? The food is just plain as can be, and you can make the pasta and sauce just as easy at home. The rain kept me from running from store to store, so I would have more to show you.

'Does this count? I went in to get out of the pouring rain, so that my new camera would not get soaked'

Once I moved here, well 'forget about it' is what they say, and you bet your last bottom dollar the food is worth every freaking bite you risk a heart attack for!

'I was gettin' a sorta dizzy from the thought of all this good food staring back at me, and of course I placed an order for my favorite Prosciut (as they say her in mobsta land), San Danielle, on the thick side of town...'

I cannot wait to see what we have to shoot next, and I promise a few more of the out door kind if the rain will go away! I went over to Pat @ Crisfield News to see what the next shoot out is, but it seems like its open, so I say lets do our favorite Parking spots around town...

Thanks R. Girl for asking me to join in!!!

Everything counts and no, thank YOU Ms. ChefE for joining out gang (i'm throwing gang signs as I type this).
Fantastic job and thanks so much for the shout-out. I'm so glad that I "met" you through blogging and your posts are always a ray of sunshine for me nice lady :)
Italian Food? Love it!! The cheeses you featured? Ditto - I've never yet met a cheese that I didn't like, have you?
You're the bestest and I hope that you have an EXTREME day :)

Steady On

good job! Think of your photos in thirds and try not to center everything. Adjust your white balance in your camera for the lighting situation you are in. Try some vertical shots, they tend to give a different view that is sometimes more interesting, good start!

I think you did a great job...having lived in Ocean County, NJ I understand about the Italian joints all over the place..I don't mind it but it does get redundant.

I didn't know you were from Jersey! I lived there for a while.
