Everywhere, Beauty Lives
'San Juan Island Trip, September, 08...'
Everywhere, Beauty Lives
We just have to be open up and see it, or it passes us by...
Under grey skies
up right
facing limited sun light
young seedlings will grow
great storms
circumstance damage what remains through all stages;
sometimes taking down.
Loving waters
soften falls
drifting
up and down murky silent waves.
Carried away
from familiarity;
until time
other objects
begin to weather.
Things unforeseen;
things unstoppable, but
manageable.
Ideas still remain,
no longer standing upright,
forgetting
shape has no end
to the naked eye
Eventually...
worth is recognized,
together brought
uniting
Forgotten forms
Strength in numbers;
it is said
Such is beauty, but
lost within a moment...

The photo I took above is a bit dark, but Hubby took laptop with photo shop, and my new laptop is coming in a week. I have decided to revisit some photos that inspired one of my short stories, and combine past photos, poetry, and funny stuff on here. I have six blogs, but really have neglected three much of the time. I am feeling that I need to concentrate on my art and writing for some inspiration, and meditation.
A blog will I suggest visiting is Chris @ An Instant Out Of Time. "I have started this blog to document my progress as a photographer as I take photography classes at the University of Tennessee", Chris shares on his site, and I love his photos and humor. He has this cool 'Green Egg' I am fascinated with!
I have been wanting to read some works by both authors below, and picked up a few books. Some new excitement around here is that I am going home to Texas in June for my birthday. Staying with two wonderful friends, and others that I miss dearly; I am sure there will be crazy fun stuff coming my way. My culinary teaching ends the second week of June, and it is summer break, and a long needed trip. I have not been anywhere since visiting my son in December. Road Trip!
The Future
Give me back my broken night
my mirrored room, my secret life
it's lonely here,
there's no one left to torture
Give me absolute control
over every living soul
And lie beside me, baby,
that's an order!
by Leonard Cohen
Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

:) ...giving me serenity
You are an amazing woman! Thanks for sharing your wonderful words!
Oh man, I love the post title because this weekend while walking through small town Maryville, I had that exact same thought. I was walking alone with my camera seeing things no one else bothered to notice while they whipped by in their aluminum boxes.
Thanks for the link too:)
You are like Shrek. You have many layers. (No, I'm certainly not saying you look like an Ogre.) You are multi-dimentional.
I need your blogspot address if you want me to set up a link for our members. Thanks
Beautiful my dear. I still can't believe you were here before we met :(
while I may not know the loss of a child I am thankful that you have iteration that is as personal...good for the soul I think
