Friday Shoot Out- Bokeh

Bokeh by T-

In photography, bokeh is the blur, or the æsthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or (derived from Japanese word "boke", meaning 'blur') - In photography, refers to the creative use of lens blur as a composition.

I took the opportunity to use this in my food photography- like the Mineolla Oranges in the background, used in the fruit cakes...

...as well as last nights open mic, and some familir Easter treats. My 'Peeps' help me in my endeavors.

Some of the open mic friends were curious about using this 'blur' technique, so I used their beers as an example...

Then they caught the 'blur' camera bug...I almost never got my camera back!

I just think this photo was too cool, how the colors came out, and it looks like a cardboard version of me is walking the street out there!

Those poor 'Peeps' were the butt of jokes all night long...

...and then my 'Peeps' caught the Open Mic bug!

I was so tired when I got home in the wee early hours, my 'Peeps' help me put up the post for Friday!

Thanks for joining our Friday Shoot Out MckLinky, click on this link to join us!

Disclaimer- Only a few 'Peeps' were harmed sacrificed gave up their sugar existence in the making of this post...

nice job Missy - I also had a couple with the blur in the front and focus in the rear... but didn't post them cause I didn't know if that would be caught. I love peeps. we bought the goodies for Marissa's basket and I made sure peeps were included (for me!)

After enough beer you don't even need the camera to produce a blur!

I love your peeps, ChefE!

That last picture is really scary. Fun shootout, Elizabeth!

And, luckily, any unused peeps will still be around ten years from now. Possibly a hundred. Those things can't decompose.

I love your PEEPS. Little primadonna's all...,just had to get into the pictures didn't they.
I love the idea of Bokeh. Didn't even know what it was. I learn something new everyday. Now I want to work on this technique more.
Hope the Peeps survived that last photo...

ChefE! Long time, no...see? Well, it rhymes. I have not been around in awhile but it is Easter and I thought I would drop in to wish my favorite chef a Happy Easter.

The photos are great - and so much fun. You did get creative.

You did a perfect job with this assignment.

How many peeps were really harmed on this assignment?

Bokeh in the fore ground, how very clever.

I don't think peeps have made it across the pacific ocean to New Zealand.
