As I visit Bryan Borland's poetry site, one cannot help but notice this photo I hijacked (with out permission, sorry baby!). His eyes, his stance, surroundings spoke to me. Our shared grief is like two rivers that flow into one pool, fates pond, and we both play together on its southern banks...making mud pies of course!
Still Life
A boy alone in the shadow
of trees- his brother, a father
killed by circumstance
by nature-
out of control courses
Time moves forward
possibilities
Steps to the left- sunlight
consumes
a face, eyes that need not
speak words, a mouth
genetically shaped
speaks
stories, a life shared-
pilgrimages
Steps to the right- shadows
mix with lines of light,
creating images, of jail,
caging
a growing male
lost in a jungle
of feelings,
surmounting
pain, fumbling paths
beating inside a heart
bigger
than his surroundings
He is standing- tall
in just the right place
the right moment, as
Adam, an almighty
wordsmith
prevails. Legends will rise
from bravery, truth
traveling in time
changing
others, lives for good
We step forward- together
the right movement
destiny...

Time to drag out an old Award
I created this award over a year ago, and have not given it out to anyone lately...You have to be special, supportive, frequent my blog, and just be a good worthy Sexy Mama!
Also, you have to love bubble baths like me! Do you? Oh, so I will not take it back!
Bryan Borland - We have connected in the most painful loving way possible!
Farm Lady - You have been a good friend, and you love my goats!
Katherine - You are a new friend, and I look forward to knowing you better!
Darn Girl - You know I love you girl!Shake those babies...
Jessie Carty - You encourage me to be the best poet!
GingerV- Because my friend you will always be a hot sexy mama!
Mark @ Butler and Bagman- You do not need to run in stilettos to receive this one!
PS- I do not expect you to place it on your site (only if you want), this was just something funny I came up with when I was receiving awards last year from so many blogs who had to idea who to pass theirs onto...but you truly are all Sexy Mama's! So wear the honor proudly...
Actually to really take it a step further...Hubby and I just watched a favorite movie of my son's a few weeks ago, and the song comes to mind "You are truly... Truly Scrumptious"...now what movie was that from?
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!
This was fun to watch it and remember what my kids did at certain points of the movie, and how excited they got...my son would sing all the songs...how the loved musicals like me...just sayin'- sharing a memory...

Friday Shoot Out- Celebrate Life!
Sometimes we celebrate in the kookiest ways...and sometimes we celebrate life in the most loving ways...

Well, I have been (re)celebrating life for the past three weeks! In Texas...
I lost my daughter almost exactly nine years ago, and have been trying to re-define my life the past few years with work changes, and other life altering 'who moved my cheese' experiences.
With new friends here in New Jersey, and new 'old' friends in Texas...I have done some positive re-enforcement in the celebrating life area!
My childhood friend, Cheryl (above), and her twin sister Carol (and hubby Buster) took me out for my 48 birthday...we are showing you that not only our attitudes are big, but what is behind us is not too shabby!

They embarrass you and make you do this chicken dance thing with a hat on, and a beak that is really a water cooler cup... In front of the whole restaurant!

Sorry for the phone camera shots...they teased me for not having that camera at my side like it was during my cooking sessions!
Got Icing! Michelle made me homemade sweet butter cream chocolate cupcakes...

I also met up with another friend before I left...
Joyce...she and I went to visit the old 'Celebrating' haunts down off Lower Greenville Avenue in Dallas, and laughed at some things we used to do...like dancing the night away at 'Service Bar'...
Allie @ Fresh Confessions of a Screwed Up Texan and I met up...turns out she grew up not far from me, and her mom and I went to the same high school!
Then another old friend, Danny, and his wife Cathy took me back to Babe's for some more good ole country cooking...and...
I got Cheryl back...BIG TIME!
Can you say...bawk bawk bawk, or is it chirp chirp chirp? LMAO! She was so surprised! Her birthday is in July, and I will not be there to help her celebrate, so an early one was due!
I am glad to be back home, but I sure like the friends I still have, and the ones I have made through Friday Shoot Out, and in the blog world!
Life is good not matter what it throws at ya! Hope ya'll celebrate in the best way!

Ta Da...Vision Board!
I finally complete reading my book and finished my vision board...Each section will be a positive moment and look at what I really want out of life...eleven areas to concentrate on for now...
'E'
Relationship
Kid Power
Charity
Law of Attraction
Writing
'Project Cast Iron Tempo'
Attitude
Style
Laughter
Travel

First we have to look at the root of our vision...our self! My goal is to continue working on a healthier, slimmer, and vibrant 'E'...like I remember being years and years ago...but without the baggage...
Like this? I kind of wanted my hair blowing back as if I was in a commercial, lol...the head is a little big, but hey, so is this chef's brain right now...full of energy and ideas for the days to come!
A 'Vision Board' is a realization of what you want your life to be...goals you set for yourself...try it and see if you too can stay focused on your future...
