Friday Shoot Out- Domestic Animals

This weeks topic has been chosen by Sandy, and it just so happens that a funny thing happened on the way to complete my assignment this week...

My friend Lisa and I have been friend hopping while in Texas, and it has been raining for a week. Well...she let the dogs out in the morning, and I let them out in the afternoon, but we both forgot to make sure they had come back in before we left for our friends sisters house...

You can see here how Maxie the male silky terrier decided to make the most out of the weathered yard...

Lisa's daughters pet goat decided to model for us during a 'Aged & Weathered' photo shoot while on their farm in Virginia last week...

...but back in Jersey...hubby and I had made a visit to a local farm, Cherry Grove Farm which provides fresh grass feed meats, and cheese to our community. On my way into the creamery some cute cats darted out from under a bench...

Then I strolled into the creamery to look around, and hence the milking had begun...

I did feel like maybe I should have given them a little privacy...rather than snapping away...

...but I found it interesting to watch them get hooked up, and see the milk flow into the cheese making room.

Now I found hubby gazing at the goats, and saying that he was seriously considering my desire to raise goats and make my own goat cheese...hmmm, now Lisa is considering my idea to haul a few back from Texas and raising them on her farm.

Thanks for joining me for my journey through this assignment, but I cannot leave out a pic of some domestic animals that I have been having great fun with!

Lisa's daughters are nine, and sixteen...two beautiful girls that have made me wish I had a few more at home myself...(I know I have lost my mind right?)

Go check out the other Friday Shoot Out assignments over at our main site, and you can grab this badge to place on your site to direct others as well...

What a beautiful bright clean dairy farm. I was raised in Wisconsin, and I miss that! About those goats you're thinking of, have you heard the Persian saying "If you don't have any problems, get a goat!"

The photo of Maxie is classic. He looks like he was out having the time of his life. He almost looks homeless. It's hilarious. I love it.

We have a friend who raises and shows goats. It is her passion. I don't know anything about it except that it's a lot of work and a lot of traveling.

Having teenagers at home seems like a very good idea FOR SOMEONE else to it..
I love goats cheese but don't think I would want to make it myself, great entry, have a nice weekend.

The girls look so beautiful and happy. The trip around the dairy farm was wonderful. The cats and the little goats were so sweet. Thank you for the tour.

What cute dogs. The second one looks like he got caught in the rain 'and' stealing the roast off the table.

Nice cow shot. They are all great. Love the kitties, of course.

Oh, you might as well put me back on the list. I have not missed a shoot out yet. I figure if I got through the summer I can make it from here on. Now watch me miss a week.

Have a great weekend. Give a yell so we can get together when you pass by.

The dirty dog is hysterical! We had a goat once...they aren't very smart. But they are funny!

My word verification: unDUCKei!

I'm sorry, it may take me an hour or two to get over that "after" pic of Maxie - TOO funny!

I wouldn't own a goat. There are a ton of goat thieves out there, I hear about them all of the time. People always complaining that so and so "got their goat".
