Today's post is Incongruous, picked by Mary @ Traveling Hammer; its meaning is inconsistent, out of order, ridiculous,or contradictory...
I will say that this was not the easiest thing to ride around my town and just spot. Sometimes when I did see something it was too late or not allowed for me to go back and try and shoot it...as I have said before, once an assignment is over I always see plenty of the weeks past topics!
My first picture is of some tourist on the sidewalk, but they are not walking...
Hey everyone it is summer, and right next to a river sits this fountain with no water coming out of it...more disappointing than incongruous!
I took this shot when we were about to get into a cab, and in my life (I have many more years to live of course) have I ever seen such a neat cab, and with place mats on the seats...I felt like we should not be sitting on them...
Maybe the city just could not make up their minds?
I have played this hand before, but hey it works for the topic...Hubby and I are not to far from fifty, but give us a break! Who signed us up early? Who is the funny guy at AARP...
If you participate, you may take this button and place it on your FSO each week so that others may hop around and check out all the other great assignment post each of us have done!

I especially loved Street Road. Honestly...how did that pass the board vote?
At 62, I'm not too far from fifty, either. Thanks for the great stuff.
It's so true that it's easier to find pictures for a topic after it's done.
It struck me the other day that I'm not far from 50 either. How very strange! Time to tweak that definition of 'far'.
I hate AARP, don't know why other than they remind me to often I'm getting older!
That place mat thing is just to wierd :{
Great!
Yes what is it about fountains not working in the summer? We have a couple that haven't seen water in a couple of years!
Great posts ChefE!
My husband just received his AARP card...he's not quite 50 yet either...
Love the placemats on the cab seats - would that make them butt mats?
My son got his first letter from AARP, at age 28.
The public safety officers ride those little scooter things all over our downtown area at night and every time I see them, I have to laugh. I've never seen that many at once though - very entertaining :)
Those placemats for butts are just weird! Got to take the cake for incongruous with that shot!
great post. those place mats are a hoot!
Love it girl, the empty fountain makes me sad too :). Love all the pictures :)
I like the way you present your photo sharing/presentation in detaild. Step by step and it's like I was traveling with you. Beautiful photos!
I understand floor mats to keep the floor clean...but placemats on the seats? What does that taxi driver think people will leave on his seats?!
Very incongruous.
I got my invitation to join AARP at 50 and am ignoring them.... figure I have another ten years before I have to admit I am 50 -
I love the photo of the 'walkers'
love the place mats on the seats! never have seen that. great shoot out!!
Placemats on the seat - I have never seen that before!
HA!! Love that Street Road sign :)
lmao at the dinner mats on the seat. I've never seen anything like it. That first pic would have me doing a double take as we don't have anything like it in our area.
