Friday Shoot Out- Silhouette

This weeks theme is chosen by Carrie, and was quite a challenge for my schedule. I loved the 'Silhouette' instruction website someone had shared on one of the postings, but it was too late for what I had taken, so next time!

Hubby and I had to go to our niece's fourth birthday party, in Hoboken, but it is still in Jersey. I fudged a little...

Hoboken is the birthplace of Frank Sinatra. The buildings are similar to the ones found in NYC. Lots of people walking about, and many great restaurants to eat (of course I cannot go without mentioning food, LOL!).

The tree came out the way I intended...

Hubby's family begins to squeeze into the small apartment quarters...

Hubby's mother and step-mom ask if we would take them on a quick drive by of Hoboken, as they had not ever visited. Of course the view of Manhattan, NYC is spectacular! Along with my lone silhouette lamp post, lost in the crowd...

Of course I got a few laughs when I started posing Adison's new Moxie doll for my assignment, but hey...I tried, and maybe came out some what victorious!

Thanks for coming along with me on my FSO assignment this week, and I cannot wait to see yours! If you want to join, just come on over and check out what Friday Shoot Out is all about; then let me know via email- elizabeth@cookappeal.com...

I never made it to Hoboken when I lived out there. Thanks for the virtual trip.

I like the doll in the window, but can't decide if it looks like she is trying to look out, get out, or getting ready to be frisked.

I think the doll is trying to get out! LOL. Great post.

Funny, but I kind of thought of it as she was saying thank you to the sky for such beautiful weather, and watching the dog park next door :)

Frisked J9, that is way to funny!

Don't jump Moxieeeeeeeeee, life is not that bad in the Stelling family!

I love the building, especially that little cloud thing you have going on.

The apartment shot is very nice. A lot of light and shadows you have going on there.

How much did you have to pay the Moxie doll to pose for that shoot? Very cute.

Have a beautiful weekend!

Great visit to an unexpected place. Our course I'd heard a lot about Hoboken through watching Frank, but never stopped to think what it might look like!

I loved the silhouette of the tree against the brighter building.

Clever idea about the doll! I see shots like that and think now why didn't I think of something like that?? I think it's happy to stay where it is cause it is a bit freaked out by what it sees when it looks out!

The doll is hysterical. Hoboken makes me think of one of my favorite books as a kid: The Hoboken Chicken Emergency. Last year I re-read it and can't figure out why it was such a favorite of mine!
Nice skyline, though!

mom and step mom, they must be good friends to be travelling together. My grand dad had two wives, luckily for everyone, one was in China and one in Borneo. Then the first wife died. because it wil be all hell break lose if they were together.

We never saw grandma, when we were young, we hated step grandma and thought she was a witch. Now, she is old, and we are grown, we love her to bits.

Thanks for kind words about my photos, I had a previous exercise with Sunday stills.

It's neat how the Shootout assignments can get us to take pictures we wouldn't have thought of otherwise. Great post.

Well done, Elizabeth. I'll be leaving here in a few hours. See you in NY.

Hoboken sounds like a Swedish word for "taking up with ladies of ill repute" :)

Nice silhouette, especially the tree shot. I like the layers of sky, sunlit building, tree.
